Since our incorporation in 1998 , Standard Shipping has been totally focused on building a strategic, quality search and recruitment practice.
Standard Shiping is now manning Ropax , Passenger, Ferry and Ro-Ro ships .
Standard Shipping is providing Masters , officers ,ratings and auxiliary crew covering FULL positions on-board; N.B. company deals either direct or via our dedicated travel agency ,with ALL matters related to crew changes including but not limited to transfers , transport , hotel accommodations , flights , medical examinations MLC 2006 & flag approved.
Standard Shipping has a contactors based collaboration for auxiliary personnel for shipyards and ashore locations with a UK based partner and for independent contractors onboard the ships with a German client - please check clients section.
Since 1998 , Standard Shipping proudly and successfully managed to provide complete or partial crew management to many EU/EC companies , our focus being directed towards roro and ropax market where our expertise grew rapidly and essentially . Crew search and retention is a key component of sustainability. Standard Shipping has been able to maintain a retention level of over 80%. This high retention rate is driven by planned career development paths which are mapped out for the individual crew members: paths which include opportunities for promotion within our partner managed fleet. A `preferred employer´ initiative focuses on crew welfare issues is also an important way of ensuring high retention
Standard Shipping has created an extended logistic network enabling smooth and rapid handling and management of all matters related to placing on-board / returning home of own seafarers.
It is therefore important to highlight that Standard Shipping - provided ship owner / operator / manager requires this - is able to arrange and book flights either domestic or offshore , arrange transport to or from the closest airport , deal with any visa requirements , etc. – all these being secured evidently either by our in-house departments or via our dedicated partners part of our company inter-modal business complex.
